The steps below are provided for assistance in properly preparing various common substrates before coating.
If necessary, pressure clean with a minimum of psi to remove all dirt, dust, oil, grease, laitance, loose particles, foreign material, and peeling or defective coatings. Mill scale and rust cannot be removed by solvent cleaning.
Clean off the paste residue. This standard is not asstm in any packages. Small residues of rust and paint may be left in the lower portions of pits if the original surface is pitted.
